Meet at center parking lot by baseball fields. Proper tree pruning is important for the health of your tree, and training trees while young can be important in highly visible areas to achieve the aesthetic you want. Caring for your trees during the first two years after planting are critical to get them through transplant shock.
Thursday, 9/23/2021, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Bechtold Park - Cooper Creek Collaborative Project Tour (Part of Great Outdoor Weekend kickoff, Green Drinks event) - Join Hamilton County Conservation District staff on a walk through Bechtold Park along Cooper Creek to see several of the many ongoing efforts to restore this Mill Creek tributary. Learn about the Cooper Creek Collaborative, a partnership of organizations and community members who have come together to create a multi-faceted watershed project that includes stream monitoring, community education, and multiple stream restoration and stormwater reduction efforts all focused in a 1-square mile 'demonstration watershed' area. Meet at the back of Bechtold Park past Shelter #2. Follow up the tour and head over to HighGrain Brewing from 6-7:30 p.m. for drinks and networking with regional sustainability leaders and passionate residents. In celebration of Great Outdoor Weekend, HighGrain Brewing is releasing a Green Umbrella collaboration beer made with 300 lbs of peaches gathered at Permaganic EcoGarden in Over-the-Rhine!

Saturday, 5/29/2021, 1:00 p.m. at Bechtold Park – Family oriented creek walk. We will be getting in the creek to learn about what lives there, look for stream critters, talk about how our actions impact them, and what the Cooper Creek Collaborative is doing to help.
Tuesday, 5/18/2021, 6:00 p.m. at Bechtold Park – Adult oriented invasive species walk. We will learn what an invasive species is, how they impact our local environment, and what you can do to help manage them.
